Get the lowdown on Iranian on- and off-screen duos

We often see actors playing couple or members of a family in a show. It is good to know that some of these co-stars are real-life duos who made it beyond TV screen. You might have watched many of their works without actually knowing that they are couples in real life.

Here, ifilm has decided to chart some of these well-known on- and off-screen twosomes.

The first actor couple are Amin Zendegani and his wife Elika Abdolrazzaqi. They appeared together in several works; the latest of which was ‘Daughter of Sheena’. You probably know Amin Zendegani from ‘The Kingdom of Solomon the Prophet’.

You might remember Mohammad-Javad Ezzati and Mahlaqa Baqeri from the sequel TV series ‘Huge Problems’. The couple didn’t play as duos in the series but they both rocked their roles!

The third movie duos are the veteran actor Mehdi Hashemi and his wife Golab Adineh. They have a daughter named Noura Hashemi who is also an artist. Mehdi Hashmi has been praised for his cinematic and theater performances, and has appeared in the works of major industry names such as Bahram Beizaee and Rakhshan Bani-Etemad. His role in the TV series 'Sultan and the Shepherd' (1981-1984) brought him nationwide recognition and fame. No one can forget his wonderful role in ifilm TV series ‘Gharib’s World’. He admirably played the role of Dr. Mohammad Gharib, the founder of pediatric practice in Iran.

Known as the 38-year-old couple of the Iranian cinema, Mohsen Qazi-Moradi and his wife Mahvash Vaqari have also appeared in several works together.

The young and talented couple Amir Jafari and Rima Raminfar have co-starred in several works.‘ I’m a Tenant’ and ‘Spare’, both run by ifilm, are two of their shared projects.

Last but not the least are the two renowned actor couples Mahmoud Pakniyyat and Mahvash Sabrkon. You probably won’t forget their role in ifilm series ‘Prophet Joseph’ and ‘After the Rain’, will you?
